“People with goals succeed because they know where they are going.”

Earl Nightingale

As I reflect back, I’m amazed at how far the business has come. We’ve opened a downtown office, we’ve expanded our client portfolio, working with a fantastic group of non-profits, small businesses, and government agencies. We’ve worked hard to stay relevant and to keep our skills sharp through ongoing learning and networking. In 2018, we successfully completed Social Media Marketing and Search Engine Optimization courses through Stanford University where we gained valuable skills and techniques to assist our clients with their digital media needs. Later in the year, we gained insights into leveling-up the business by joining 500+ women business owners at the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Annual Conference, held right here in beautiful downtown Spokane.

So where does that lead us for 2019? I recently had the opportunity to spend the day with the talented Rene Johnston, owner of Employee Engagement Solutions, and other women business owners, opening our minds to some creative thinking and soul-searching to identify our 2019 goals. While these goals have been percolating in my mind for a while, here is what I left with at the end of the day:

Working with Amazing Clients

We have been blown away by the opportunities to work with clients that amaze us. From small businesses that care about the people they serve, to government agencies working to keep communities healthy, to our nonprofit client’s unfailing commitment to mission-driven work. We truly are blessed to work with such great people.

For 2019, we will continue efforts to expand our client portfolio, starting with being more purposeful in sharing who we are and what services we provide. The first step being the launch of the Impact Strategies Inc. website and blog. It’s been quite the journey to get to the point of publishing the site as who we are and what we offer is sometimes difficult to capture. We’d love for you to spend some time on the site and send us your thoughts and suggestions. For future blogs, we will offer insights, tips, and resources on board development, effective communication, marketing, and social media strategies, and other topics based on the feedback and trends we are seeing.

Empowering Others

While it is not a typical business goal, empowering others is a personal passion that I have that carried forward to the business. Whether it is a client, a budding entrepreneur, a non-profit executive, or a fellow business owner, helping others succeed is Impact Strategies Inc. mission and what makes this work so rewarding.  We will continue efforts to share our wisdom, expertise, and skills with those looking to create, strengthen, or expand their line of business.

Enjoying Life

Striving for the perfect work/life balance is a hot topic right now, and rightly so. One of the reasons I started Impact Strategies Inc. was to create an avenue where I could continue to use my professional knowledge and experience while having the flexibility and time to enjoy life. I’m committed to creating an environment that supports a healthy work-life balance, not only for myself but for those I work with.

Some would say I’m an overachiever in this area as I just returned from a relaxing week of sunshine and warmth in Mexico. Travel helps me find the time to breathe and to keep my balance for what is really important in life.

What are your goals for 2019?

What are your goals for the new year? I’d love to have a cup of coffee with you and hear what your goals are. No catch. No sales pitch. Who knows, you might leave with a more defined sense of how to work toward your 2019 goals.

Thank you for your support, business and encouragement as Impact Strategies Inc. continues to find its niche and make its mark in the world of small business.

Until next time,

Jerrie
